11/12 - Global Exploration

Today we'll briefly look at all of Chapter 6. Students should have read the WHOLE THING before class. We'll talk about things that stood out to them. (There may even be a pop quiz!)

We'll watch clips from a documentary called 1421: The Year China Discovered America to take a look at another theory about global exploration. Here are the documentary segments:
1421: The Year China Discovered America, part 1
1421: The Year China Discovered America, part 2
1421: The Year China Discovered America, part 3

Homework: Reading Reflection over Chapter 6, with one item from the video about Chinese exploration, due Monday 11/15

Printed PowerPoint handouts for 50 cents

After some students have been asking me to print out the PowerPoint handouts (when I make PP's), I asked Mr. Smith what he'd like me to do. Since the handouts are available for download off the blog and the material is in the book, we decided that students who would like me to print off the notes for them can do so, but for 50 cents per set of notes. That money will go toward classroom resources and/or the trip to the Czech Republic in the spring.

Students that want the notes need to ask in the morning so that I have time to print/photocopy them by class time. :)
