Extra Credit - Mosaic art

As we venture into Chapter 8, students may explore Islamic mosaic art in order to earn up to 8 extra credit points toward their homework grade. Full points will be awarded for exceptional artistic demonstration and understanding of mosaic art.

Students may use any media they feel comfortable with, but the mosaic itself should be at least 2 feet by 2 feet (the larger the better, however). Mosaics will be displayed in class. The mosaic should be a "kaleidoscope" design, or one that has a radial pattern like the example below.


Students who are not sure how to go about getting started on a design like the one above may ask me (Miss Beisel) for help. Projects are due by Monday, December 6th.
